Until you start looking underneath it.

Hack the Planet is a retro-inspired life simulation, adventure game, and hacking sandbox built around a dense city full of jobs, businesses, characters, minigames, websites, secrets, and things to discover.

You're not starting as some legendary hacker.

You're just trying to survive.

Work jobs. Make money. Pay your bills. Upgrade your apartment. Meet people. Explore the city. Play arcade games. Browse the internet. Take side jobs. Learn new skills.

And when you're broke enough?

You might be washing dishes for extra cash.

HACK THE SYSTEM

Eventually, another version of Planet City begins revealing itself.

Hidden websites.

Private networks.

Forgotten files.

Underground hackers.

Corporate systems that were never meant for you.

And a company called Meridian Dynamics that seems to exist everywhere while somehow remaining almost invisible.

The deeper you dig, the stranger things become.

MEET OTHER HACKERS

You're not the only person poking around where you shouldn't.

Throughout the city you'll encounter other hackers with their own personalities, specialties, motivations, and unique hacking challenges.

Some are rivals.

Some are useful.

Some might become friends.

Whether that's a good idea is another question.

Planet City isn't just scenery.

The arcade contains playable games.

Jobs have their own activities and minigames.

Your apartment has things to do.

Websites hide games, tools, conversations, and secrets.

Different locations have their own mechanics.

The goal is to build the kind of world where you can leave your apartment intending to do one thing and spend the next hour doing something completely different.
